It’s like a dream sometimes the way I stream these rhymes
From my clouded mind and I try to find
A meaning to my life it gives meaning to what I write
These words over beats and chords
Often before when I’d sit with a pen and I’d begin to blend
These words over naked white sheets I’d let the beat
Take me to places before never reached
Just me and my clouded thoughts
Shared with the world
Breathing these words have brought me a few girls
Few nickels and dimes – I love spitting these rhymes
My love’s teaching the blind
The truths I feel I know so we all grow
And bathe in what we sow
From the winds to the rains/ My joins and my pains
Things lost/ Things gained
Things always change/ This feeds the brain
We need to hang on for a little bit more
And see what life has in store
Until we get it right

I’m on borrowed time
I had to borrow this mike to rock this freestyle
I’ll make you holler for a dollar

Now way back in the days we would daze and amaze
With the simple turn of a phrase
Lord help me if I’m lying then I’m dying
Now gimme this chance to spread this olive branch
A piece of my words do they can be heard
From the jungles to the ‘burbs
Just let ‘em be heard
Mediocre to some or a masterpiece
Maybe a poor man’s rhyme, but it’s the best that I could find
I’ve lived each and every line
I loved where there was none
Stood up and kissed the sun
Hugged the moon in June
Hoping to touch you soon
And if I do then we did it and life shines through

And then we get it right

I writing using metaphors and using imagery
They often say that the listeners can’t get with me
I write for those who want and need to be set free
From prejudice limitations – I do this for my nation
Those I care for who misunderstand me the most
Each spirit under the One
Each one under the sun
Each day each life and each time I breath
I find it’s true and hard not to believe
That there is something more while they speak of apathy
What I’d really like to see is y’all follow me
I’m not a sage just a fool who loves life and God
Sick of seeing my people have to try so hard
Sick of seeing lies told and the cycle turn
Wondering what one-day will make the people learn
Wondering when one day the truth will take its turn
Wondering if it’ll ever come before the story is done
We need to get it right
